Chili Cookoff Information
What is the Chili Cookoff?
The Fourth Annual Chili Cookoff is a great way to try more than ten varieties of homemade chili while doing your shopping at the Farmers Market! You can also be a contestant in the Cookoff! (see below)
From 10 AM - 12:45 PM, you will be able to judge the different varieties of chili.
At 12:50, the votes will be tabulated and the winners will be awarded!

$5 for 3 cups $15 for 10 cups

What type of chili would you like to cook and share?

Before the Cookoff:

Make at least 8 quarts of chili to share (two standard crockpots)

During the Cookoff:
-
Set up between 9-10 at the contestant tables. You will be assigned a contestant number.

Make sure you have enough time to reheat the chili to at least 135 degrees.

Cookoff starts at 10 AM, ends at 12:45

You will ladle a small portion of your chili into cups as people request

You can bring any additions you want people to add to your chili: cornbread, scallions, sour cream, hot sauce, etc.

The voting public will then vote for the tastiest chili and the winners will be announced at noon!

We supply: tent covering, electrical outlets, tables, tasting cups, signs with allergen information for your chili

You supply: chili, method to keep the chili at or above 135 degrees (safe temperature), ladle(s), decorations for the table (not required)

First Place Winner Receives: Chili Cookoff Trophy
and $100 in Cash
Second Place Winner Receives: $75 in Cash
Third Place Winner Receives:
$50 in Cash

We are not requiring a donation to enter the contest this year!
We will accept donations for "A Soldier's Child Foundation", to be added to the donations we receive for the Chili Cookoff!
